What a fabulous friend sending an awesome gift!

Nana Miller decided our little sweetpea Makayla needed to visit Santa for her first Christmas, not just any Santa, but THE Santa.  So as Makayla's Mom said, "the village" (who raises a child) all trekked to the Mall at Millenia to see Santa and have photos taken for this very special event.  Well, I will never second guess the wisdom of Nana Miller again.  There is a difference in Santas!

Anywhoooooo, we have so many great photos of Makayla with Santa, I shared one of my favs with friends.  One of my etsy Melange Team friends, who I only know through her wonderful mixed media art and her kindness on-line and in emails, made this fabulous mixed media tile with that photo.  It arrived in the mail, unannounced for me to open with surprise and delight!

Maureen, I can't thank you enough for your thoughtfulness.  Maureen is a new and first time Grandma too.... Wyatt, her son's little boy, born just a few months before Makayla.  We have a good time exchanging stories on-line of the joys of Grammiehood.

The tile is a big 6.5"x6.5" square and h-e-a-v-y!  Mo, this had to cost a mortgage payment to mail!

Now, my photography cannot do it justice, the snowflakes are 3 dimensional and sparkle in the light.  So does the peridot  cabochon.  And below is the famous text, "yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus"  and Maureen has added Makayla's name to the story.

I will cherish this for the rest of my years, and I can't wait until Makayla is old enough to understand how very special some people can be, how people can help others and be good friends without having ever actually met in person, and how artists all have a common thread that brings them together.

What a special gift and lovely surprise! Maureen, adding the "Virginia" story was the perfect addition to the tile. Pat, that photo says so much and thanks to Maureen, you and Makayla now have a family keepsake.
